This makes my post, the first of 2013! Much of the things I need to blog about are long overdue. Let's get started and go back a few months...

First and foremost, HAPPY NEW YEAR! The world didn't end on Dec. 21 and another wonderful year has been tucked away under the belt. I'm striving for great and amazing things in 2013!

Second, I just celebrated my 22nd birthday. Being twenty-two just sounds so old... but saying that I'm twenty-one just makes me feel like I'm underage. Nonetheless, I'm still going to say I'm 21 and milk it for the next 20 years.

2012
2012 overall was an amazing year, but also on the other hand, it was somewhat rocky. I still am truly blessed for all the great things that happened to me. I celebrated a Secret Santa Christmas gathering with friends. Our gathering consisted of dinner, Secret Santa and of course drinking games. I gifted an orange world series tshirt, baseball ornament and a lottery scratcher to Josh and I got my Bare Minerals kit that I wanted from Ray!

For Christmas, I spent my weekend with babe and family. It was nice having a relaxing weekend and I watched Titanic in its entirety! I gifted babe's mom a GAP sweater, Hello Kitty plush toy, and Cocoa Bella chocolates, her boyfriend a GAP sweater as well, babe a superdry jacket and a massage chair topper, Ray an express argyle sweater and Mimi the MAC crushed pigments. I received the Too Faced bon bon palette, Benefit coralista, adidas jacket and a cold from babe.

2013
It was New Years Eve and I was still feeling a bit under the weather and I had nearly no sense of taste but babe made reservations to Espetus, a Brazilian steakhouse to ring in the new year. He made reservations for 7:30pm and when we arrived, we were told that we would be
seated as soon as they had a table. Needless to say, the restaurant was
extremely busy. Luckily they had a bar, where we saw a couple of
friends. My boyfriend and I ordered some drinks with the friendly
bartenders and chatted. A little later, we were offered a plate of
appetizers by a server. The appetizer plate consisted of deep fried
banana, mini popovers, and steak fries.

About 10 minutes later,
we were seated and awaited our server. Our server came around and told
us that we were to go to the buffet line and help ourselves while
keeping in mind that they are sides. When we come back to the table with
our plates and our little wheel trinket was set to "Sim, Por Favor"
would we be served meats. The only menus for the night would be the wine
list and the dessert menu.

Our server told us that there were 15
different meats to try as well as pineapple. However, I don't think we
got to try all 15 different meats.

Me:
Sirloin
Filet Mignon
Chicken hearts
Sausage
Pork
Lamb shoulder
Grilled pineapple
Bacon wrapped steak
Bacon wrapped chicken
Lamb shank

Babe:
Sirloin
Garlic Steak
Filet Mignon
Chicken hearts
Sausage
Pork tenderloin
Lamb Shoulder
Beef ribs
Grilled pineapple
Bacon wrapped steak
Bacon wrapped chicken
Lamb shank

The
best part of my meal was the exquisite sirloin. It was juicy on the
flavorful on the inside and charred to a crisp on the outside. My
boyfriend really liked the lamb shoulder. We both enjoyed the delicious
grilled pineapple. It was like cutting into butter and it burst of
sweet, sweet pineapple. For dessert, we shared a delicious creme brulee.
-----
SF restaurants participate in a program, bi-annually where restaurants have a prix fixed menu for lunch and dinner, called Dine About Town.

Babe and I went to Alfred's Steakhouse, however Alfred's Steakhouse should just be Alfred's because steak is clearly not their forte. I ordered oysters, the Caesar salad, boneless ribeye, and bread pudding while my boyfriend had the leek soup, New York steak and chocolate cake.

The oysters were good, just like any oysters you can eat anywhere else. We both waited at least 20 minutes for a simple Caesar salad and leek soup. 20 minutes! It's not like there was even a little garnish for presentation on my boyfriend's soup! An additional 20 minutes later, our main steak entrees came out. Both our cuts of meat were charred black with no flavor whatsoever. This is probably why they give you a gravy cup full of sauces of your choosing. Finally it was time for dessert, and boy was the bread pudding heavenly. The chocolate cake needed more work.

Thoughts:
- Upon arrival to Alfred's, the host seemed a bit discombobulated and unorganized with reservations.
- Our server never came to check on us and ask how our food was.
- There's a ridiculously whopping 17% service charge added to the bill. Supposedly everyone that works there gets a portion of that charge.
- 20 minute wait for soup and salad.
- Ambiance is like Maltese Falcon and Prohibition era speakeasy.
- Steak was terrible.
- Dessert was delicious.

I also had a delightful girls night out on the last day of DAT at Chez Papa Bistrot. The restaurant had indoor and outdoor seating available. The seating indoor is small and a bit cramped. The whole restaurant was also very noisy.

For dinner, I chose the mussels, the lamb and the apple dessert. The mussels appetizers were delicious and had a lot of flavor. I didn't experience any shell residue inside the meat when I bit down and it was cooked in a delicious soupy broth. I have to say though, that the portion was quite large and one could definitely get full off the mussels. The lamb entree was also very flavorful and tangy, however it was slightly salty. The apple dessert was petite and refreshing. My friends and I also paired our food with two bottles of wine. The wine was the right amount of sweet and dry.
Can you believe its almost the end of 2012?! I can't... I remember yesterday was just January! Hope you all had an amazing year and an amazing holiday season. A lot has happened this year but I'll save that for another post.

Not too long ago, I was going crazy over lippies. Bold fall colors, bold loud colors, nude colors, pink colors. I was all over them! I was after the gift with purchase for Clinique so I went too the counter and bought the chubby stick and a lip liner. After that, I thought the Revlon balm stains were also a good idea so I bought three.

When I bought the chubby stick I was in love with the color. A nice bright purple-pink hue. When I tried it on at home I liked it but not as much as I had hoped. The color payoff on my lips wasn't great. It was very sheer and more of a tinted balm. The chubby sticks are a bit expensive for just a tinted balm. The chubby sticks don't have any menthol in it to plump the lips.

The balm stain from Revlon on the other hand had a huge color payoff. I swiped the balm on my lips once and it was already very pigmented, so you don't need much. I think I like the balm stain more than the chubby stick. And for the price, the balm stain is much more worth it. I think the balm stains have a bit of menthol in them to plump up the lips.

We decided to put our Planet Hollywood coupon booklet to good use before we left and used up most of them.

We got ourselves some Earl of Sandwich, then went up the Paris Eiffel Tower ride and went to Serendipity to enjoy lunch. Earl of Sandwich was of course amazing, and if you haven't tried it yet, make sure you get a sandwich (or two) the next time you visit Las Vegas. The wait can get long and seats are limited so go at a time where you don't think it'll be busy. I personally really enjoyed the Earl's Club.

Babe and I used the coupon for the Paris Eiffel Tower ride. Before you hop on the elevator to the observation ledge, two pictures are taken by the employees at the Eiffel Tower bridge. The ride going up on the elevator was a little nerve racking just because I've been increasingly afraid of heights. I was most scared when we got onto the observation ledge and walked around to see the ground. The scenery itself was very nice however. Another thing you must experience in Las Vegas. You can see all of the exquisite casino/hotels and even the Bellagio fountain show!

Afterwards, we headed over to the M&M store and Coca Cola store. The M&M store didn't have much for us, while we got to try the Around The World at the Coca Cola store. If you haven't tried it, go try it. The flavor I least enjoyed from the tray was I think "Beverly", it had a weird spice taste to it.

The last day of Sin City and I must say we did a good job to tucking a bunch of sight seeing firsts under our belt. After our final look around, we left for the airport.

As they say, until next time.
And I am publishing this post to inform everyone young and old.

**Very emotional post, please close window if you're heartless. Insensitive comments need not post.**

Circa summer 2008, someone dear to me was diagnosed with breast cancer just a couple months post-partum. She took all necessary precautions to rid her body of the evil cancerous cells and even detected it early. My reaction upon discovering the news was pure shock, the kind of shock where you're frozen in your body and don't know how to react anymore.

After the diagnosis, whenever I saw her, she was happy and full of joy, as it should be, forgetting her worries and enjoying her life. I remember we even watched "The Dark Knight" together. She had the support of her friends and family, and I would often get updates of her health. She decided to undergo chemotherapy and from then on her health deteriorated. The cancer cells were beginning to metastasize and began to infiltrate other parts of her body, the brain, the lymph nodes as well as the breast all had cancer cells. Though the news of this sounded like a death sentence, she was strong and full of hope to regain her clean bill of health. I have never seen someone with that much willpower to want to live, to enjoy their lives and spend whatever time she had left with the ones in the places that meant the most.

After some rounds of chemotherapy, she said she felt lifeless, fatigued, lethargic and of course the hair on her head became more and more sparse until there was no more. But I only ever saw her with her fabulous wig, never a bald head with nothing more than a couple hairs atop her head that confirmed all suspicions that she had cancer. She then ceased chemotherapy treatment. It wasn't about being vain, it was about her overall well being. Because there wasn't an alternative effective mainstream treatment, some of us didn't agree with her discontinuing the chemotherapy, ultimately it was her choice. She ended up researching a treatment that would hopefully cure her. It was a holistic approach that consisted of a strict diet.

I remember the day we all went to the hospital to visit her. It was the first time I saw her without a wig and of course I cried, everyone cried. How else can one feel when someone dear to you is lying helpless in a hospital bed. Words could no longer soothe her, only selfless support of her decisions for her own health.

For a couple of months her health fluctuated, better to stable to worse until she passed on just a few months shy of a year since the diagnosis and on the wedding anniversary of her and her husband's. Again, getting wind of the news was pure shock. I didn't cry until I uttered the words to myself that she had passed on. She left a loving husband and a new born child. There was nothing more that I wanted than her to be a survivor, to see her husband and her new born child grow up.

Since her passing, I've been a bit more attentive to things that may cause harm to my health.

Personally, products containing parabens are deal breakers and I try to stay away from them as much as I can. However, sometimes they can't be evaded.

Take an active role in your health!

Purchase products that are paraben free. Parabens are added to products such as makeup and lotions to prolong their shelf life. I don't like parabens because when it enters the body, it can mimic the hormone estrogen. For young girls, it can also cause early puberty. The four parabens that are prevalent in products are: Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Methylparaben, Propylparaben. Parabens are usually found near the end of the ingredients list. Yes, it means that there is very little concentration of it in the products, but have you thought of how many products you use daily that may contain parabens in it? Getting exposed to it daily can increase your risk.

Try to purchase nail polishes that are formaldehyde, DBP and toluene
free. These three chemicals are known carcinogens. Years ago I went to a
natural makeup event that let people sample nail polishes that were
free of the carcinogenic trio and the best part was that there was no
smell whatsoever. I was also told that the nail polishes were available
for purchase at the local health stores in my area. Do your research and
see if you can purchase them online. The organic nail polishes can get a
bit pricey. The small bottle I sampled years ago cost about $13.

Don't dye your hair or dye it less. I know some people love their hair dye but it can cause health problems. My mom frequently shows me articles about girls that dye their hair and a chemical in the dye causes a horrible allergic reaction and is potentially fatal. Why do you think pregnant women don't want to dye their hair? If you can't stay away from dying your hair, try to stay as far away as you can from the roots. Try to purchase organic hair dye.

Eat your veggies! There are many vegetables that are
anticarginogenic such as mint, basil and lemongrass. Eating too much
meat can cause gout and other diseases. Furthermore, I've never heard of
people eating a plant based diet contract mad cow disease. Furthermore, with so many genetically modified foods it is important to eat healthy.

Drink out of a stainless steel canteen. Not a plastic water bottle. It's eco-friendly, you're diminishing your carbon foot print while diminishing the intake of BPA in your system that is found in water bottles. Stainless steel canteens can be purchased anywhere.

For those that have been recently diagnosed with cancer, never lose hope that you will see another day. Do not let cancer win and put up a good fight.

In retrospect it was a waste of a beautiful day. Ended up going to the Venetian to gamble a bit after we made a trip to Earl's of Sandwich (I think). We were at the Venetian quite a while and then just waited for dinner time to arrive.

We went to the buffet at The Mirage this time, which wasn't very good at all... If I had to rate them in order it would be:

1. The Wynn Buffet

2. Wicked Spoon Buffet

3. Spice Market Buffet

4. Bellagio Buffet

5. The Mirage Buffet

6. The Aria Buffet

The Mirage Buffet by far was the least enticing in terms of presentation and there wasn't much to choose from. I can quickly recall that the chow mein from the Mirage were pretty good in comparison to everything else.

After dinner we decided to watch the Mirage volcano show which was ever so convenient. Too bad we just missed the show and had to wait another hour for the next one. The show itself was okay the weather was pretty humid already and the addition of the spewing fire torches made it feel like I was melting.
The Planet Hollywood was much better and had no dirty bandages or broken faucet handles. We even got a booklet full of coupons to use.

After hauling ass to Planet Hollywood, we went to the Spice Market buffet to have brunch. This time around, the prime rib was not as succulent as the first. And everything else was the usual.

For dinner, my boyfriend made reservations for Gordon Ramsay Steak at the Paris Hotel and Casino. I had some things to say about this place. For one, my boyfriend made the reservation for Saturday night in advance on Wednesday afternoon. During the phone call no one asked for a phone number so we were a bit confused if your reservation was going to be processed or not. We decided to just leave it alone. On Saturday, my boyfriend called the restaurant to confirm our dinner reservation, all the hostess said was "okay." and hung up. SO ARE WE CONFIRMED OR NOT?! After my boyfriend hung up, I called back and wanted to confirm and was then put on hold for 10 minutes. R U SRS? How hard is it to fucking confirm a reservation? I was really surprised that they were so unorganized especially so because it boasts the name of world renowned chef Gordon Ramsay. I made it known to my boyfriend that if we had any difficulty in gaining access to the restaurant, that I would rip them a new one. In the end, I didn't need to, we were admitted to the restaurant. Ladies dressed in black attire opened the large door for us to enter and we went in. Our table wasn't ready yet so we got a drink at the bar. Midori sour for me and a coke and rum for my babe. We didn't wait too long before our table was ready and we were escorted to our table. I was a little dumbfounded when the hostess didn't help us bring our drinks to our table because usually they do.

Finally arriving at our table, we sat down and took a look at the menu. There was a special prix fixe menu available and if you ordered it, you can take the menu home as a souvenir. The prix fixe items didn't appeal to us so we both got the foie gras and the beef wellington, for dessert we ordered the panna cotta with melon sorbet. The foie gras was especially delicious because neither of us have had it for a while since its ban in California. The beef wellington was okay, I was expecting much more bursts of flavor and an overall goodness. The panna cotta was pretty good and the melon sorbet was very flavorful. Our server was kind but a little slow, he took up some time to show us the cuts of meat that were available to order. It was a waste because we couldn't hear him over the loud pounding music. The decor in Gordon Ramsay Steak was nice and interesting. There were photos on the walls of Gordon Ramsay himself and it is said that the ceiling fixture is Chef Ramsay's hand movements when he cooks.
Babe and I started off with breakfast at Max Brenner a restaurant notorious for chocolate. Babe ordered a hash while I had the quesadilla and hazelnut milkshake. The quesadilla was good I didn't really like the chipotle sauce and there was an extra sauce on the side in a cute little flask. The hazelnut milkshake was DA BOMB. And cute too! The interior of the restaurant was like the industrialized version of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. Lots a pipes running through the ceiling of the restaurant. After breakfast, we finally fit in some sight seeing and went to the wax museum. The wax museum is located right off the walkway to the Venetian, you really can't miss it unless you avoided the walkway completely. Its walls are a bright blood red and named "Madame Tussauds" with interchanging "The Rock" and "Whoopi Goldberg" wax figures.

The museum itself was interesting but a little short. There were a LOT of photo opportunities with eerily life looking wax statues. Albeit Johnny Depp is a great actor and good looking, he was the one that freaked me out most. I can almost swear that the eyeballs were following people around and that the arm wanted to cup my shoulder when I was taking a picture. Perhaps they should make a new movie called "Night at the Wax Museum" where all the wax figures come to life and do abhorrent things to people. Anyways, got to see a lot of celebrity wax figures like the vampire slayer Sarah Michelle Gellar, Bradgelina, Britney Spears, Simon Cowell, aforementioned Johnny Depp, Single Ladies artist Beyonce, the Fame Monster Lady GaGa, and California lovin' Tupac to name a couple. It really was amazing to see all the statues.

After the wax museum, we gambled a little bit at the Venetian and headed back to the hotel and grabbed a snack at Serendipity3. We went to Serendipity3 so many times during out trip, it wasn't even funny. I got the frozen hot chocolate as usual, and a burger to share. Serendipity3 needs to figure out their table waiting system, everytime we sat along the wall closest to the server's computer, it would take extra long for water or our order to come out. #checkyoselfbeforeyouwreckyoself after our mid day snack, we relaxed a bit before heading back out for dinner.

I really had no idea on what to get for dinner but I did see Trevi right downstairs with its lovely fountain in the midst of it all. I made a reservation for 2 for a patio seat to gape at the large and beautiful fountain. The only thing nice about the restaurant was the large fixture spewing water. The food was only so-so. Babe ordered the beef carpaccio appetizer and the spaghetti and meatballs while I had the spaghetti carbonara. The beef carpaccio was very good and I loved the crostini. The spaghetti and meatballs were also decent in flavor. My spaghetti carbonara was good but the cream sauce dried too fast and balled up into rubber bands.

After our dinner at Trevi, we went to Fat Tuesday just approximately 25 paces from Trevi and got a small souvenir cup filled to the top with alcohol slushy.

Second day of our Las Vegas trip and what do we do?
There's something about being on vacation that never lets me sleep in. I always wake up early like for school early. But if I wanted to sleep in, I should just stay home. When you're on vacation, there are things to see! Things to do! So I wake up in the early morn, and of course I had to pick breakfast. Looked around and I saw Bouchon (pronounced "bu-shon"), so I hauled ass and we walked over to the Venetian. We were finally at the Venetian and asked directions to get to Bouchon. Had to go up some odd floors and ended up at the end of the corridors and at Bouchon. It was quite nice, very quiet and lovely. You could see the pretty fountain from where I was sitting, I suppose it was also a pool?
I ended up ordering the french toast while babe ordered the usual eggs, bacon, potatoes kind of thing, he was also offered a pastry and drink of his choice and went with the chocolate one and coffee. My french toast was pretty, I didn't want to devour it but I was starving from the long walk on the Strip and was still a bit hungry after I finished. The chocolate pastry was also pretty good.
After enjoying a nice brunch and view, we headed downstairs to gamble a little bit. Winner winner chicken dinner! Afterwards we took a short trip to the outlet malls and looked around. I can never really find anything good at outlet malls. For dinner we went to the Wynn buffet. We read the sign out front that said that gentlemen wearing sleeveless shirts could not enter so we tried to look in the souvenir shops to buy a t shirt that would cover him up, we found one but it was ~$23! We went ahead and got in line to pay for our buffet and the lady told us we could purchase a shirt for $13. Mmm, better than paying $23... The Wynn buffet was on par with Wicked Spoon, they had a large selection of food and desserts, yummy! The candied apples are really enticing but they'll seriously break your teeth off. I have no idea how people ate them and I could only take about two bites of it. I do recommend checking out the Wynn buffet if you want to stuff your tummys.

Damn, has it been a while since my last post or what? Anyways, this past August, I was at it again. Yes, I was in Vegas. Babe has rewards, yada yada yada. So we decided to cash in on the very lavish comps.

I called to make reservations and the voucher stated any Caesar's properties so of course Caesar's was on the top of the list. I was greeted by a very kind representative and was told that our Caesar's was not available for the days we wanted to stay, I said it was fine and booked our reservation for Planet Hollywood instead. I was still a tad unclear on how many days we were staying and what day our flight was but I was allowed to alter and cancel the reservation if necessary. A couple weeks closer to our vacation date, i realized I had to make changes to our reservation and I quickly called them to do so. Greeted by another welcoming representative, I changed our reservations to two days in Caesar's Palace and three days in Planet Hollywood. Reservations, flights and luggage are locked and ready to go. Off to Sin City.

Arriving at McCarran Airport, I was welcome by all too familiar things. The plentiful slot machines that scattered the airport floor, the burst of heat when I exited the airport doors and of course the taxi lines. A smile flitted across my face as I realized I'm back in Vegas. After our tedious and all too familiar taxi ride, we were at the casino floor of Caesar's Palace. We checked in and moved to the casino cashier to redeem the comps. After a tiring talk, the casino host stated that we did not make reservations under the voucher I had in my hand. We took our disheartened asses up to our rooms and dropped off our stuff. Caesar's Palace? Really? No substitution comps? The first thing you do when you get into a new hotel room is roam. You look here, you look there, you look everywhere. I stepped into the bathroom and................ there was a dirty bandage lying next to the bath tub. I am abhorrently disgusted right now. Caesar's Palace? Really? You disgust me. Wanting to wash my hands and rid it of dirty bandage germs, I went ahead and turned on the faucet. Guess what? The faucet was also broken. Caesar's Palace? Really? You can't even bother to fix the faucet.

Nearing dinner time, I wasn't sure on where to eat, so we looked on our Yelp app and found the Palm Restaurant in the Forum Shops of Caesar's. The place was quite entertaining, the lights were dim and had caricatures of famous celebrities on the walls. The staff were also very nice and friendly. The food... could have been much better. I got a burger while my boyfriend got the steak, which steak? I don't remember. I do remember he got it with the Oscar - jumbo crab meat with hollandaise sauce and asparagus. One of the waiters even brought out a live lobster to show one of the patrons. He saw us staring so he brought it over to us and let us hold it. Mutherphucker was heavy... After dinner, we went to get the infamous Fat Tuesday. No trip is complete without an alcohol slushy.
It feels good to be vacation. I could do without the packing, unpacking, time it takes to get there, the uphappy feeling you get when you realize you have to snap back to reality the next day, packing and unpacking again.

Nonetheless, I had a wonderful time getting away. This past weekend, my friends and I headed off to Tahoe.

Friday, July 20, 2012
It was a tedious three hour long drive to our destination. I brought magazines and snacks, none of which worked to make the time go by quicker. Finally on Friday evening around 5 or 6 pm, we were about to arrive at the secluded cabin that would house 10 of us for the weekend.

The cabin was very nice and quaint. In retrospect however, it did remind me of Paranormal Activity. There was a large HD television sitting in the corner with a large, comfy, brown couch. There were a couple of shelves of books and games. A long dining table, a fire pit in the yard as well as a sauna, and an upstairs game room.

For dinner we had lasagna, pizza and salad. Come game time, we played King's Cup, beer pong, Taboo and who could forget... chai mui... Didn't lose at King's cup! I was on a damn roll at beer pong! Taboo is my shiet. And I don't play chai mui. :) And I forgot why I had to take a shot before dinner.

Lol, babe pissed me off a bit so I had to full mount him and beat him up. Just like... UFC. I won, btw.

Before we knew it, it was time to sleep. We had to get up early to get to the boat/jet ski rentals. Unfortunately, rowdy Vinh didn't want to sleep. I'll embarass him with the video one day.

Saturday, July 21, 2012
All of us had to wake up early to haul ass and get to the boat/jet ski rentals. It was about a 30 minute drive to the lake and one of our cars almost died because of a careless driver.

We finally arrived at the boat/jet ski rentals and got one boat instead. The jet skis had to stay in a certain parameter and had to be seen from the beach. We got settled on the boat and headed off to explore. The front desk told us Emerald Bay was one of the most photographed places in the US. Emerald Bay it is then! It was crazy the separation of the depth of the water. You could clearly see where it was approximately 60 feet and where it was 1,000 feet.

After reaching what I believe was Emerald Bay, we stopped the engine and let some people take a swim. After everyone had enough of swimming, we started to head back to shore. I tried to get a tan on the back of the boat, which was nice since the sun was beaming on my back. I think I got a very slight tan.

As we got closer to shore, I started getting a small headache. I didn't want to stay any longer so half of us headed home. I showered quickly and snacked on some guacamole and chips. We were all pretty hungry and didn't get to eat lunch so we set up some barbeque. The rest of our friends came back and we all sat down to eat.

Before we started dinner we were all watching UFC and betting quarter - half of a beer to who would win. One of the cards was a 39 year old vs. a 30 year old. Vinh went for the 30 year old and screamed, "ONE HIT KNOCK OUT!!!" after the bell rang. And guess what..... IT WAS A ONE DAMN HIT KNOCK OUT. .......................................WHAT THE FUCK?! x458947674895677569 By that time, I was just shitting bricks and getting mindfucked.

After another couple of hours we started grilling our dinner items. We had ribs, lamb and mashed potatoes. The lamb was particularly delicious, possibly from the marinade? The mashed potatoes tasted good too even tho it was pretty dry and starchy.

After we digested a little bit... LET THE DRINKING GAMES BEGIN. Here we go rage cage and Taboo. I felt sympathetic to the ones that had to keep drinking and losing at the end. The game is fun but damn stressful and I ended up losing once.

This vacation went by so quickly! :( and it took forever to get here! I love vacations!

On the dock

Our boat!

Group pic!

Triplets

Explorers

Fool #1

Fool #2

Clearer bg

AMURRIKA!

Boy band picture

LOL WTF

:) better

Swim!

Swim faster minions!

Getting our tan on.

Couple pic!

Hanging out in our yard

Fire pit for smores!

Ping pong with books.

House pic!

We got some Bambu on the way home!

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4891956931488254891.post-86048619856451153612012-07-18T17:38:00.002-07:002012-10-29T18:39:07.207-07:00Vegas 2012 Day 3

Our third and final day in Sin City.

We got up in the morning, and decided to head to the Bellagio for their buffet. We checked out of the hotel and headed to Bellagio. It was quite a long walk from Aria. Luckily there was a breezeway to shield us from the humid weather and hot sun. The breezeway also came with those walkways that you stand on. I was quite amazed with the lobby when we stepped in. The ceiling was decked out with blown glass art, I think from the artist Chihuly. Walka bit farther into the lobby and that's where you find their conservatory. Absolutely dreamlike. I was in awe at the beauty. There was a small waterfall, a carousel, lighthouse, and other cute decor.

We took a couple of pictures at the conservatory and we left to get our brunch.

Finally found the line for the buffet and we waited. And waited. And waited. We waited approximately 45 minutes for brunch. There was lots of food to choose from. Unlike Spice Market and Wicked Spoon, Bellagio skipped presentation as well as quality. I know people rave on and on about the Bellagio buffet, but honestly, I didn't see anything worth raving. The chicken noodle soup was that of cheap, flavorless buffets.

After we were full from the buffet, we tried to look around the Strip for something to do to pass the time. Our flight was around 6pm.

I guess we some how wound up at New York - New York for some photo ops. Then we ordered a souvenir beer cup of some mango drink. It was around $30 and it was a whopping 70oz!!! We couldn't finish it... sad, all that alcohol wasted... Got a little buzzed and hungry so we ordered a hot dog as well. Some deaf guy came over to our table and handed a fan. There was a note attached to the fan that said he was deaf and a couple of dollars would help his family out. We ended up giving him $5. Whether he was deaf or not, neither of us know. Hopefully he and his family is doing well. If he went to go buy drugs... well that's unfortunate. And he didn't look the type.

After pouring out the 70 ouncer, we headed back to Aria to retrieve our bags and left.

Upon going through TSA at the airport, I went through the machine where you put your arms up and totally got flagged. What I was wearing? A gold sequin tank top. Ladies, please remember to not wear any clothing that has sequins or is sparkly so you can get through TSA quickly.

The conservatory

Carousel!

Waterfall

Glass art

A couple of desserts from subpar Bellagio buffet

Breezway

Monte Carlo

70 ounces?!?!?!!?/111

I'll see you soon Sin City. ;)

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4891956931488254891.post-87697087253459577752012-07-16T18:51:00.004-07:002012-10-29T18:39:07.210-07:00Vegas 2012 Day 2

Day 2 of Babe's Las Vegas birthday continued.

We got up in the morning and headed over to Planet Hollywood for their brunch buffet. The weather outside was about 105 degrees. I get cold easily so 105 was barely scratching the surface. Quite frankly, I really enjoyed this 105 degree weather, it was teh awsumz.

We had a nice walk over to the Spice Market buffet in Planet Hollywood. The line wasn't too long so we were able to get seated quickly and start our nomz. I grabbed plenty of plates of food and we got mimosas included in our meal. The waffles were very cute and even had "ph" imprinted on them. The quality of food was superb. I started to get full after I got a plate of nachos, maybe I was just too overwhelmed by the food? But I got up one last time to check out the prime rib. Sat down with the slice of succulent slice of prime rib and I took a bite. You must be kidding me because this prime rib is absurdly delicious and comparable to that of actual prime rib specialty restaurants. If only I had found you sooner, dear old prime rib...

After filling ourselves up, we took a look around, and then headed off to the outlets to do some shopping. Unfortunately, we bought nothing. After outlet shopping, we caught a cab to MGMGrand and spent some money gambling there. I think this is where babe and I were playing video roulette and I put $1 on the number 8 and actually got it! Haha, quite the payout. After getting that out of our systems, we headed back to Aria. I think on the way we headed back to try and get a souvenir cup and try the jagerbomb slushies. We ended up getting a loco coco or something, which was a blue slushie with a coconut smell/flavoring. Pretty good compared to the other choices we had.

After that we headed back to Aria and relaxed for a bit before we went out to have dinner. Since we were staying at Aria, we might as well try the buffet. Luckily for me, I had credit and we just charged it to the room. We were pretty excited to eat there, probably because they served king crab legs. Unfortunately, it was huge disappointment. A whopping $85~ for 2 adults for crappy food and service! C'mon Aria, I thought you were better than that! None of the foods there were worth committing to memory or very appetizing. Oh well, thank goodness I didn't have to pay for that.

After dinner, babe and I walked over to the Bellagio to watch the fountain show. It was his very first time watching it! I was so excited to experience it all over with him! We walked swiftly to a spot that would have a good view and stood for a couple of minutes. Finally, the show was about to begin and the music started playing. I believe the song was "Viva Las Vegas" by Elvis Presley. The show was probably about 5-10 minutes and showed breathtaking streams of water. It was all so synchronized and perfect. I asked Babe afterwards how it was and he totally enjoyed it! Satisfied with his reaction, we left and went back to Aria. It was great to end our night with something to beautiful.

Waiting in the short line for buffet at Spice Market

Fixture

Yummy food!

Cotton candy and mimosas!

Cookies and fruit tarts!

Babe and I at MGMGrand

Yums

Babe was watching Dumb and Dumber.

Cam whore

Ready for dinnah!

Whoopie pie

All of the lights

Viva

:)

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4891956931488254891.post-64159781707428923092012-07-01T16:04:00.007-07:002012-10-29T18:39:07.198-07:00Vegas 2012 Day 1

PIC HEAVY!

Hello beautiful people! It was Babe's birthday just this previous weekend and I wanted to do something special, so I booked our flight and hotel for Sin City, Las Vegas.

Friday, June 22, 2012 - Saturday, June 23rd, 2012
The day of, Babe and I had dinner with his brother and his brother's girlfriend at a sushi restaurant close by to the airport. Initially, our flight itinerary was to depart from our hometown at 9:00pm and arrive in Sin City at about 11:30pm. Unfortunately I was not notified of the flight adjustment which delayed our flight until the estimated time of 12:00am. Even worse was the fact that we got to the airport around 8:00pm, therefore we had 4 hours to rot to death. Close to our expected 12:00am flight, we got up to get some Pinkberry frozen yogurt to keep us company. The minutes ticked down to when we would finally board our flight. As if waiting for our delayed flight wasn't torture enough, there was a girl at the restaurant laughing a drunk loud laugh. And if those two aforementioned things weren't enough, there were a group of annoying girls signing Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe". Someone please shoot me now. How can you be so hyperactive at such a time. At 11:38pm, the woman at the gate via loudspeaker that the plane will be touching down at 12:30am and that we would get out of the airport at 1:30am. R U SHITTING ME?!!!??!?!!11 Our flight was supposed to be at 9:00pm, delayed to 12:ooam, delayed to 12:30am, now 1:30am. Luckily, if you wanna call it that, we boarded the plane around 1:ooam-ish and indeed left at around 1:30am.

During the ride, I was trying to take a picture of babe and some guy came over and got in the picture. An hour and a half later, we were finally in Sin City. The line for the taxis weren't that bad but we still had to wait in line. Finally we got a taxi and great... we got a douchebag. Blonde spikey hair, ugly tattoos on his forearms, bluetooth in his ear, blasting his ghetto wangsta rap. It's 3am! We just got off a delayed flight! Can you be a little respectful? By the time we got to our hotel, the beautiful Aria Hotel and Casino, it was already about 3:30am. I went up to check-in and the computers were down for maintenance. OH GREAT. So we had to wait 10 more minutes to check in. C'MON GAIZ! You're cutting into my Vegas time! Finally we were able to check in, so we went upstairs and dropped our stuff off. We needed some drinking water so we walked to the CVS close by to buy a gallon of water. Afterwards we came back to our room and got ready for bed.

I woke up around 8:45am and babe fully woke up at around 10am. We got ready and went to eat at the Wicked Spoon buffet located in Cosmopolitan Hotel and Casino. The presentation award goes to Wicked Spoon because the food was presented in cute and individual plates. After stuffing our stomachs, we got some photo-ops in with the shoe in the foyer.

We headed back to Aria then tried to hit the pool. The pool was practically full, each chair and inch of the 2 large pools were filled.

After failing miserably trying to chill at the pool, we went back to our room and decided to go to to Serendipity for a late lunch snack. Babe ordered the quesadilla and the one and only frozen hot chocolate. Don't be fooled like I was. I thought frozen hot chocolate and going to be a mixture of hot and cold chocolate sundae or something. Instead, it was a iced hot chocolate drink with whipped cream. And yes it was delicious. Wait for a seat was quite long tho.

After having our late lunch snack, I suggested we head over to Paris Hotel and Casino for their souvenir cup. Upon ordering, the bartender carded us and saw that it was babe's birthday. Then he proceeded to double the dosage of vodka into the souvenir cup. Afterwards, we headed back to our hotel to get ready for babe's birthday dinner.

For the night, I made reservations for Del Monico's Steakhouse in the Venetian Hotel and Casino. I ordered the filet mignon and potatoes gratin, while babe had the ribeye and the jumbo crab side. Initially, the steak was quite delicious, towards the end however, it was quite meh.. I could taste the herbs and spices like they were just sprinkled on the filet. The waiter even happily took pictures as we requested. Quite a good photographer as well. After dinner, we hailed a cab back to Aria and relaxed. Our day was quite long and babe got hungry again so we ordered some room service.

Checking in!

Pimp a$$ Virgin Airlines

"C'mon man! I went a couple years ago with my BFF but I didn't think it was that special. Time to revisit with Babez. This time around, I actually thought it was good. We got multiple "rolls" in 2 piece portions. After eating there I had a revelation... sushi rolls should be no more than 1 piece each person and unique. Sure large, massive rolls are good for your wallet and tummy but small portions let you try multiple flavors and textures. I'm not a big sushi fan, really but I know what I like now. :) After dinner we tried a new Japanese dessert place. I ordered the fruit box which was good but way too sweet and Babe's mochi tasted like cardboard.

June 8, 2012
Dine About Town! Select restaurants with a prix fixe menu for only $34.95!!! This is a deal! Especially restaurants that are "$$$". Babe took me to Bisou for dinner, which was a quaint and trendy French bistro. I had the foie gras appetizer, foie gras steak entree and salted caramel dessert. The foie gras appetizer was disgusting because 1) it was served cold, 2) it felt like I scooped a spoonful of butter in my mouth. If you've had real, warm foie gras, it's already a slimey and oily texture. Enough to turn people away from it, but oddly enough not me. Foie gras just shouldn't be served cold I guess. My foie gras steak made up for it after, however. The foie gras and steak was succulent and delicious, no complaints here. The salted caramel dessert wasn't bad either, it didn't taste like a generic salted caramel, this one had real salt rocks in them! There was also a yummy little crunch to it maybe from some kind of nut? Pretty good overall, just not the foie gras appetizer.

June 9, 2012
I've been implementing badminton almost weekly now! I'm happy! I miss my old love of the sport. After I changed, I realized I didn't bring my shoes... -_-' Therefore, we had to go to Tanforan to buy me some new shoes. They're pretty cool! I think they're the lunareclipse shoes. I still kick everyone's butt with no shoes. :D After their badminton beating, we all went to go eat lunch at Ali Baba's to eat Mediterranean food. I got the lamb, which was pretty good and I tried a bit of falafel.

June 14, 2012
Babe and I grabbed some dinner from Pasta Pomodoro, lol. This place has really good bread, but everything else is kind of meh... This time around I ordered the marsala and babe had the lasagna and a side of broccoli. The marsala had a heavy wine taste to it and the lasagna didn't have as much flavor as I thought it would.

June 15, 2012
Babe and I are going to be out of town this coming weekend and I wanted to take him to eat prime rib. Unfortunately, HOPR couldn't accommodate us, and I had to choose elsewhere. We went to San Mateo Prime once again. Made it there about half an hour late but they were still so empty! Their prime rib is warm, juicy and delicious, Idk why people weren't lining up out the door for it. We also got a piece of tiramisu for dessert, for free!

June 16, 2012
Its winding down closer and closer to Babe's birthday! AGH, I'm so excited! :) It was a gorgeous day, finally, so we had a picnic in the park. In the evening, it was Babe's birthday dinner at yummy Anh Hong. This place has mouth-salivating food, srs. After dinner, they brought out the beautiful strawberry charlotte cake that I had ordered for him. I swear it looked way bigger in the picture online than in person. Still very pretty and yummy nonetheless.

Chef setting a roll ablaze.

Lamb

Chicken

Lasagna

Marsala

Babe's side of broccoli

Hey, who's that?

Very sweet Zinfandel

Petite cut

:)

On ze house!

Picnic!

Fatty

Our family portrait

I look cool, blurry

Bowling time!

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4891956931488254891.post-83982574573054944652012-06-11T18:48:00.004-07:002012-10-29T18:39:07.205-07:00ATV cherry

I bid you farewell. A couple weeks ago for the Memorial Day weekend, my friends and I hauled ass and headed to Pismo Beach. We left Sunday night and got there early Monday morning, the 4 hour drive there wasn't that bad actually. We got there pretty quickly and checked into our hotel room. After checking in we went to McDonald's for a late night snack and brought it to the hotel to eat. After that we went to sleep. We woke up and all went downstairs to get some breakfast. They have pretty good free breakfast lol. Frosted flakes, fruit loops, danishes, oatmeal, fruits and you can make your own waffles. After grabbing breakfast, Alan mentioned a place that served really good clam chowder. To Splash Cafe we go then. It wasn't all that far away and it was pretty hot when we got to the restaurant. We went up to order our food, I got the crab clam chowder, and babe got the salmon tacos. We got an absentminded cashier so when the food came out, I had no crab in my clam chowder and babe got a salmon sandwich instead of a salmon taco. SHEESUS, then it was another $1 for the crab meat. The clam chowder was only good because it had the crab meat in it, otherwise it wasn't all that great.

After our lunch, we went to the ATV rental place to what else?? Rent ATVs obvi! It was really windy and cold when we got to the rental place and fine grains of sand was blowing all over the place. We had to look for parking so we could go in and pay for the rentals and there was a small parking lot but it was full. Stupidly, we tried to go into the parking lot anyways, while there was a large mound of sand in our way. Ultimately, we got stuck and everyone had to push the car out lol. Parked around the long strip of ATV rental places instead. It was so windy and there was so much sand, my corneas are scarred I bet.

Finally we paid for our ATVs and had to pay $5 to drive on the beach to the trailer that had our ATVs waiting for us. Felt kinda cool driving on the beach... but $5 wth? We got to the trailer and parked our car and got suited up for ATV riding! WHEE! We had to listen to one of the guys explain in depth about the dunes and etc. He made it sound like a death trap or that we would get lost, I was pretty terrified. After the excruciating in depth explanation, we were taught how to ride our bikes and rode around the little practice area. After everyone was on track, we headed towards the larger dunes. I kid you not, there was an area called, "Sand Highway". After passing the limit line of "Sand Highway" I felt like I was in Dubai, surrounded by so much sand I could suffocate. I was still a bit terrified but then I started to get ballsy and wanted to ride up and down the blunt cut offs. We rode around for a bit and then everyone started to surround Anita. Didn't see anything happen but she fell off her bike and landed on the back/neck! OMAIGUT! She tried to go up a pretty big dune but fell off. I also fell off but thankfully no one really saw. ^__^ Babe claims he did but I don't think so. I wasn't even going up a really big dune like Anita was and I fell off. I was still clenched onto the bike when I was in the air but I let go luckily. -_- How embarrassing.

Soon enough our 2 hours of ATV riding was up so we left to go back home. First, I was to try on my template trays, then bond my attachments, then wear my trays for 20-22 hours a day then change them every 2 weeks for 8-12 months. I have 10 trays!!!

I tried on the trays and they fit then it was time to bond the attachments. The attachments are there to guide the teeth into the correct position and in total, I needed 11. 5 attachments on top and 6 on the bottom. I actually needed 2 attachments on one tooth! The bonding of the attachments took the longest but after that it was easy peasy. I tried on my first tray and they were pretty tight and had an annoying tingly feeling.

Invisalign is kind of a hassle but I guess it kicked my habit of always wanting to snack. On invisalign, you have to brush and floss after every meal or snack, which is a big hassle, so I'd rather not snack anymore. :)

The indicators are pretty cool. When you get the trays, they're a dark, royal blue. As you wear them more often, they start to fade to indicate that you've been wearing them for the correct amount of time.

Indicator

Indicator

Indicator

One of the attachments

?!?!?!?!?!!??!?!!!111

With

Without

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4891956931488254891.post-59719792534233874852012-05-22T19:36:00.002-07:002012-10-29T18:30:20.709-07:00Happy birthday

Happy birthday darling!

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4891956931488254891.post-82400553199183115782012-05-02T19:08:00.006-07:002012-10-29T18:39:07.204-07:00Let the good times roll

Couple weekends ago it was finally a hot day, so I dressed in my summer's best. I got to relax with my boyfriend for a bit before his friends asked us to go bowling. We said sure, so we headed to Sea Bowl. What a treacherous drive it was, it was terribly foggy and kinda sorta got lost along the way.

Anywho, we made it there in one piece and started to bowl. A good thing about this place is that they give you free socks! Sucks that the barricades come up so damn slow because it'd take 5 minutes before I could throw my ball. -___- I actually threw my ball before it went up and ended up with a spare! Second time I threw it before the barricade went up and Alan(a) screamed, "OPEN IT! OPEN IT!!!" Luckily it went up in time and I knocked some pins down. After a couple rounds of bowling until the place closed, everyone wanted round 2, so karaoke we sang.

Got to the lounge and I promised babe we'd only be there for a little bit before we headed off. Unfortunately we stayed the whole time just to jam out. Before that night, I've never heard babe sing. That night was glorious because it was the first time I ever got to hear him sing! We all had such a good time. :') We left and were messing around which caused me to fall, scrape and hurt my knee, and break my bracelet. I didn't feel any pain, though babe kept asking if I was okay and telling me I was bleeding. I was much more heartbroken about my bracelet. Babe and I finally concluded our night at 5:30am.

Happy to say this past weekend was pretty eventful. I went to go bracelet shopping with my mom since I broke my bracelet in the aforementioned paragraph. Then for dinner, babe and I went out with babe's friends for Alan(a) and Anita's birthday. We headed out to Tonight Soju for food and drinks. Tonight is just like Playground except a lot cleaner and brighter. Their soju was pretty good too. We had peach, mango, kiwi and watermelon. The watermelon soju was served out of a real watermelon! How cool is that. Watermelon soju was also the best tasting! The food was okay, they had cheese corn, chicken wings, kimchee, kimchee fried rice, Korean style carne asada fries, bulgogi, and mini wieners, haha. Nothing was a surprise and the plates were pretty small for our big table.

After dinner we headed off to another night of bowling. I had a damn good time. :) I'm glad everyone was so inclusive. :)

Real watermelon soju

Cheers!

We fly high, no lie, BOWLING

Harrow

I look da ratchet hurr. I'm getting Invisalign? Yep. To be honest, my teeth aren't THAT messed up. I don't have teeth that look like they came out of a smoker's mouth but then again I don't have the pearly whites Nicki Minaj has. I do, however have some slight crowding. I always really liked straight teeth but moms wouldn't agree to letting me get braces. Oh wellz, invisalign, here I come.

What I defintely DO NOT have.

What I will soon have. :)

Here are some of my transition videos! Watch closely for the transformation and my crowded teeth! I was quite intrigued myself. I suppose I can update weekly or monthly to see my progress. :D Still trying to mentally prepare myself for the pain I'm going to feel.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4891956931488254891.post-48721739575712766562012-04-27T18:24:00.004-07:002012-10-29T18:39:07.191-07:00One year ago...

I met someone amazing. We talked from night to morning. I always had an amazing time with him. He understood me and I understood him. He knew what I was thinking and I knew what he was thinking. Everything was perfect so I fell. I fell hard. I still can't believe it's been one. whole. year. Time still flies when I see him and I never want to part ways.

For our one year, I made a reservation for 231 Ellsworth. Inside 231 is a gorgeous, refined and dimly lit interior. The menu is pretty much to the point pick any item you want etc. I ordered the foie gras, seared scallops, the New York steak and the souffle. Boyfriend got the foie gras, seared scallops, venison and the salmon. I love how you can pick the items you want, you can go all dessert, all appetizers, all entrees, etc. Whatever you like.

Foie gras - good but kind of lukewarm at the beginning, then cold
Seared scallops - not nearly as delicious as the seared scallops from Masa's
New York steak - was pretty good, potatoes were my favorite.
Souffle - our waiter had to teach me how to break open the souffle and pour in the sauce, we also got a plate of cookies with it, not sure if it was included

Venison - kind of tasted like chicken to me
Salmon - had a hefty seafood like taste

Because my boyfriend ordered two different entrees, I had to wait for my course after he was finished, so they were nice enough to give me a little something to snack on while I waited. Talk about awesome! I had to wait for my course at Masa's as well but never received a small plate to snack on. My boyfriend and I also were offered complimentary nomz like the small parmesan balls and the soup filled balls. The parmesan balls tasted like the delicious bread I had from Masa's and the soup filled balls had a cute little pop when bitten into. Another comparison to Masa's was that 231 also had a wheeling cart full of goodies. Nougats, brownies, lollipops, etc. Everything was homemade! We got a plate of goody desserts and boxed the ones we didn't finish.

Service at 231 was exceptionally great. Our waiter offered to take pictures for us without us having to ask. And he was a great photographer at that! Also made conversation with me about my instant camera.

The food was okay, but the service here was amazing, as well as the complimentary goodies we received!

While we were in the area, I wanted to go and try Tpumps. Tpumps is a boba store that everyone has been raving about. The store is half boba and half FedEx or UPS or whatevs. Lines get super long here and wait time after is kind of a pain in the ass. I ordered the peach green tea and the green milk tea. All sweetened to your liking, which is very nice. A girl also goes around giving out free milk tea samples which is sick. I do wish they put more boba in the drinks tho, since I only received about 10 tapioca balls in my drink. -__- I love my bobarz okay!?

The day after we decided to go bowling at one of the bowling alleys that were going to close down. After the bowling alley, we went to their parking lot to take a look at their carnival. Honestly, ferris wheels look gorgeous and seem very romantic, but they're really not. (Thanks The Notebook -_-, you still mai favorite movie doe) I was actually really scared being so high up in the air.

Parmesan balls

Table decor of my fave flowers - green orchid

Exterior of the menu

Another complimentary

Foie gras

Mermosaaa

Harrow dere

Seared scallops

Our soup balls!

Waiter/photographer

Babe's salmon

A complimentary pickled veggie dish

Table decor - candle light, real too!

My New York steak

Babe's venison

Yummy sorbet

Souffle

Goodies plate 1

Goodies plate 2

Peach green tea from Tpumps - wish they added more bobas

Green milk tea from Tpumps

Cutie that I stalk during bowling

We fly high, no lie, WE BOWLINNNN

Carnival!

Waiting in line for the Ferris wheel

I'M SKURRED

View of the carnival up top!

Thanks for all the good times baby! We headed out on the road on Saturday, March 24, 2012 and parted on Tuesday, March 27, 2012. I had such a fun time but I wish our vacation was longer. :(

Saturday, March 24, 2012
Headed out at about 12pm to get the rental car and then we went to In n Out to grab lunch. By the time we really hit the freeway, it was about 1pm. About 3 hours later, we turned in to get gas and grab a locos taco from Taco Bell. You can barely taste the Doritos.. After our pit stop, we headed back on the road for another 3 hours. After about 3 and a half hours, we finally arrived to our destination and home for the next 3 nights. Hello Holiday Inn LAX! We checked into the hotel and I even got a voucher for a complementary drink from the lounge. We grabbed our stuff and dropped it off in our room. We got ready for dinner and headed to Roscoe's Chicken and Waffle. Unfortunately, we went the wrong way and headed to the one in Manchester. -__-' We grabbed dinner and headed back to our hotel. Service was mad slow and food wasn't that great. Decided to grab our comp drink from the lounge and a salad to munch on for later. Took our drinks and headed back upstairs just to relax. After some relaxing we headed off to sleep. It was so nice just to snuggle up to my babe. :')

Sunday, March 25, 2012
A rainy day in LA so we decided to go do some outlet shopping. We headed out to Camarillo and did some shopping there. Babe and I were hungry so we headed half a mile away to Eggs N Things for brunch. We waited for about 20 minutes for a table and the food wasn't half bad. Their swedish pancakes were pretty good but I didn't like my omelette. I had the swiss cheese and spinach, the swiss cheese isn't very good. :( Babe ordered a create your own omelette, which was pretty good. He always picks good stuff. -__- After filling up our tummies, we headed back to Camarillo Premium Outlets. There was a wide array of outlet stores to shop from. Charlotte Russe, New Balance, Lacoste, Steve Madden, Nine West, American Apparel, etc. By far, this outlet had the best customer service ever. Most times outlet stores are dirty, the boxes, clothes, accessories strewn all over the floor, don't even get me started about the customer service... Quite the contrary here, we were greeted kindly upon entering the threshold and thanked when we left without buying anything. After finishing up, we headed home to change for dinner.

For dinner, we headed to the heart of Beverly Hills to a steakhouse called Mastro's. We were greeted warmly as we walked through the water streamesque vault door. Our hostess lead us up a spiraling staircase and through all the liveliness to our table. Live music and people chatting up a storm. We took a seat and our waiter came over to greet us and was very informative about the menu. We ordered the jumbo lump crab stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer and the lobster mashed potatoes as our side. I had the bone in filet mignon in medium rare and Babe had the New York steak strip in medium rare. The stuffed mushrooms were hot and delicious and served with cloth wrapped lemons to squeeze over our mushrooms for that extra zest. The bone in filet and New York steak strip were served on 400 degree plates. My filet was very good and had a slight crisp to it while the New York strip was juicy and tender. Our waiter helped serve our lobster mashed potatoes on our plates. The pieces of lobster were quite large and the bowl of mashed potatoes could serve at least 4 people. Babe was smart to cut up all his New York strip into little pieces and let the rare sections cook on the plate. After dinner we headed home to do some more relaxing. I was so full from dinner so we watched David Blaine on tv before I drifted off to sleep.

Monday, March 26, 2012
Disneyland day! Time to pop my Disneyland cherry! We headed off to Disneyland around 12pm and spent the whole day there. We parked in Jessie's section of the parking lot and took the shuttle bus to the park. The bus driver was quite entertaining, he had lots of corny jokes but it was cute. We hopped off the bus and decided to go to California Adventures first. We grabbed lunch first then headed off to the rides. We rode the Little Mermaid which was so cute! Then we went in line for the 3D shooting game. I lost to babe the shit talker but for what it's worth, I had better accuracy. ;) After the losing in the shooting game we went to Soarin' California which was a bit lame, haha. After that we went to get in line for Tower of Terror. This ride was a mindfuck but was still entertaining. It's kind of like Drop Zone in Great America, but Tower of Terror goes up and descends quickly.

Decided it was getting late, so we had to go to Disneyland! We hopped in line for Space Mountain which was very exciting, it even had good music! HAHA. After Space Mountain, we went to the Buzz Lightyear game which I DOMINATED! Babe was so mad and asked how I got from 10,000+ points to 40,000+ while he still had 18,000+. I'm a galactic warrior, that's why. We headed in the direction of the famous castle but it was closed off for the fireworks that night but managed to get a picture in anyways. We grabbed some hot dogs and stood in the large crowd to view the fireworks. This idiot with a balloon totally ruined it, the balloon was cockblocking my view of the fireworks/castle. RUDE... We left the park before the fireworks ended so we could beat the traffic. Disneyland was so magical, the fireworks were a nice ending to my first time there. We hadn't had a real dinner so we went to Cheesecake factory in Redondo Beach, it was so fancy... Had valet parking and everything! We headed home and it dawned on me that it would be our last night in LA. :(

Tuesday, March 27, 2012
We had to check out of the hotel by 12pm but I still didn't get to see the pool. We headed to the pool for about an hour before we headed back upstairs. We grabbed all our stuff and left. :'( Decided to get some Pink's hot dogs in Hollywood. The line was pretty long but it moved pretty quickly. Babe had the Lord of the Rings and guacamole dog, while I ordered the Planet Hollywood and the bacon chili dog. Babe's Lord of the Rings was good and had an interesting texture with the onion rings. The guacamole dog was very refreshing after eating the Lord of the Rings. My bacon chili dog was good but the Planet Hollywood was awful. The Planet Hollywood was nearly the same as the bacon chili dog except it had mushrooms. The mushrooms were awful like they were canned and I had enough bacon and chili. Very popular place in LA and many celebrities have been there e.g. Emeril, Dr. Phil, Laurence Fishburne, etc. After Pink's we headed to Pinkberry to grab some froyo before we were en route back home. I tried the original and the salted caramel. Babe actually likes the salted caramel froyo, usually he doesn't like anything salted caramel. After we had our sweet fix, said our goodbyes. :(

Our vacation felt so short, I wish it were longer. One day... Or is it just me? Well, in any manner, let's get on with this blog post. Two in one day, call me butter cus I'm on a roll! Just keeding. :)

Well guess what gaiz? I'm finally 21! Yes, I am eagerly exulting the fact that I am now of legal drinking age. So what bitches? SUCK A DICK! I wish I went to Vegas (yes, very original for one's 21st birthday) or even to Napa for the weekend just to be away from my obligations and responsibilities. Don't fret, I shall and I'll keep on dancing until the world ends. I got a beautiful 21st birthday gift from my mom and a lovely one from my boyfriend. :)

For my birthday, Babe took me out to dinner to Boboquivari's steakhouse. The decor and dim lighting reminded me of harlequins or a circus. Don't come here and take pictures if you don't like flash photography.

Our server was very kind and sweet. She asked if either of us have been here before. Babe has but I haven't. She informed me that Babe took me to the best steakhouse in the city *giggle* and informed us about the menu. After she left us a couple minutes to decide and Babe asked me, "Is this really the best steakhouse in the city?" LOL, what a gullible one. I replied, "Everyone says that baby." He counters, "No, I don't think they would say that if it's not true." *Eye rolls*

For our appetizer Babe ordered the Dungeness Crab Crostini with smoked salmon & avocado served with burrata. It was so pleasant! It also came with a heaping of tasty fresh mozzarella, so tasty that I kept it for my bread.
For our steak, we both ordered the Bone in Filet Mignon both cooked in medium rare. The first slice was amazing and so delicious. It had a crunch or crisp on the outside, while the inside was juicy, tender and succulent. As I got closer to the bone, it got more and more rare, which I don't like. It was like chewing gum, ew. I got too full to even finish off the large piece near the bone. Babe also ordered the Twice Baked Potato, it wasn't bad but not worth raving about. Not so sure why he was so eager to order it, plus it was only half a potato! WTF.

The steak was so filling we could barely order dessert, but we said what the hell, it's my birthday. We went ahead and got the little chocolate cones and comes on a plate of four. It was yums and even came with a candle. :')

I got to spend my birthday eating a palatable dinner and staring at my hunk of a boyfriend, that's what I call enjoyable.

Thank you baby! ♥

Mojito time!

Lobsta crostini!

Bone in Filet Mignon

Twice baked potater

Dessert!

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4891956931488254891.post-87870530783329081402012-04-02T17:51:00.007-07:002012-10-29T18:39:07.211-07:00Hello February!

Harrow boiz and gurlz! So much went on I'm not sure where to begin! I'll just begin in the month of February.

The most important day in February for a couple is... *drum roll* VALENTINES DAY! Lovely Valentines day fell on a Tuesday, so babe and I decided to celebrate early and go what else but fine dining. Gents, if you don't know that date, you're not gonna get a date.

This time around, we headed over to a restaurant named Masa's for French cuisine. Seriously, this place was beautiful but overall QUIET. Dead quiet. Penis game quiet. Echo quiet. Whisper quiet. Twas the night before Christmas, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse quiet. YUP, mad quiet. Got here a couple minutes late because of the crazy traffic and also because of the Chinese New Years parade that was unfolding. Had to walk down a treacherous hill in 4 inch heels but luckily made it unscathed. We were seated immediately and the hostess even offered to take our coats.

Our garcon was extremely nice and friendly and spoke with a calm voice, answering our questions articulately. He also informed us that foie gras was going to be outlawed this year in the summer so I had to try it at least once, and especially so when my boyfriend was raving about how good it is. Babe and I made our decisions and we ordered. Before our food came out, we had complementary bread and even a sample of the crab salad. YUM

First course: Appetizer
I ordered the Winter Citrus Salad with fennel, pistachio, mole and citrus gelee. The fruits and nuts were good but the gelatin sauce that was smeared on the plate smelled like B.O. kind of weird when the server put it on our table cus I totally thought it was her!

Babe ordered the Fruits de Mer with lobster, uni, calamari, daikon, tosaka, aji, amarillo, and black sesame also complete with a pair of chopsticks! Delicious and didn't have that weird seafood taste to it.

Second course:
I ordered the nothing. I ordered 4 courses while babe ordered 5.

Babe ordered the Dayboat Scallops with endive, blood orange and bacon, this is seriously something to rave about. The scallops was seared to flawless perfection and tasted exquisite. WHY DIDN'T I ORDER THIS AS WELL?!?!11 Truly the best damn seared scallops I've ever had. But if you guys know a better seared scallops dish, do tell!

Third course:
Babe and I ordered the Hot Foie Gras with duck leg rillette, baby turnips and tart cherries. For those that don't know what foie gras is, it's French for "fat liver". Yeah, sounds kind of gross but it's actually very good! I always used to think it was a fancy name for a type of fish *shrug* Very delighted I ordered it because it was actually very delicious. Usually I don't like slimy textures or oily textures, e.g. fish skin, sashimi, etc. But foie gras is really good and cooked with lots of flavor.

Fourth course:
Both babe and I ordered the Filet Mignon with pommes salardaise, baby vegetables and bordelaise. I ordered mine medium well while babe ordered his medium rare. Yes, his was better. I still have qualms about ordering my meat not well done. -__-' My filet was a bit on the dry side but that is my fault I suppose.

Fifth course: Dessert
I ordered the Buckwheat Crepe with marmalade de cinqe agrumes, organce glace, chocolate sorbet, and cocoa nib. Both were so delicious! I really enjoyed the ice cream *drool*

Babe ordered the Peanut Butter Mousse with peanut shortbread, raspberry, pecan praline, and roasted banana ice cream. I don't usually like to eat peanut butter but this dessert was quite lovely and not overly peanut buttery.

We were basically done for the night until our garcon rolled over a candy shop on wheels. Full of sweets, the cart had homemade macaroons, lollipops, chocolates, brittle, brownies, and more exotic goodies I've never tried before. Babe asked to box an assortment of the goodies into a box to take home since we were much too full to eat another bite.

When Valentine's day really came, Babe took me to the Academy of Science museum to spend the day looking at sea creatures and animals. I enjoyed going up the spiraling dome and seeing the butterflies, birds and stuff. It's really humid up there to cater to the animal's habitat so it's best if you don't go there if you don't like humidity. There's also spiders but they're encased but still freaky, not recommended for arachnophobics. The birds and butterflies are not encased so not recommended if you don't love beautiful butterflies and loud birds. They won't attack you or anything tho. Best part was the living roof... NOT! Idk why the yelpers raved about the roof, there's practically nothing there. Or maybe I just don't know the beauty of it? Bad part about the museum was the kids running around. I think we'll make a trip to CAS nightlife.

Complementary pre-nomz

More complementary pre-nom: crab

Bread! You are probably pondering my existence and where I have gone, maybe you think, just maybe I am lying in a ditch or something dramatic of that sort. Quite the contrary! I have been having fun so I can share my experiences and fun so that you can feel the fun I felt.

Moving along... I went to South Lake Tahoe the weekend right before the Spring semester of school began. January 13-16, oh what a fun time I had, why oh why did it have to end?! Initially, teammate invited me so that he could pop my snowboarding cherry. I was so excited! Mini vacay and snowboarding?! YESSS.

The day before, we headed to Sports Authority so I could get some snow pants. I fit Young Boys North Face snow pants. -___- Good thing teammate told me not to rip the tag off because I returned the pants right after we got back from Tahoe. The snowboarding cherry remains intact and unpopped.

Friday, January 13
Teammate drove his brother and his friend to the airport to pick up the rentals cars and headed to his brother's girlfriend's house. I played with her dogs for about 20 minutes and we left. We packed up mostly everyone's luggage, food and games. After getting in the rentals, we went to get some Vietnamese sammitches for breakfast and some for the road. Not before long, we were done and we were off! 3 hour drive was a pain in the ass and the AUX cable in the rental was janky. #firstworldproblems Teammate, I and two others won the race and got there first. We explored around for a bit and claimed the king bed to ourselves. :) Finally the second rental came around 5pm and we relaxed. Not before long, someone decided they were hungry so Joe the cook whipped everyone up a burger. /NOM NOM NOM /Belch... not too soon after that the drinking games began. And not too soon after that Joe the cook whipped up some nachos. So pretty and so delicious. I think we all went to bed around 12 am or 1 am.

Saturday, January 14
Saturday morning cartoons! Football! Oh how can I contain the excitement! I lie, I wasn't excited for either really. I got up and made teammate and I an omelette. YUM. Teammate spent the whole day sitting on the couch and watching football. LAME. I spent a couple of hours just working on my prelicensing materials, I got bored after that so I decided to get dolled up for nothing. :) Time ticked closer to dinner time and Mimi was making tacos and burritos for the night's dinner. It was such a nice dinner, it felt like... la familia. Yet again, not before long, the drinking games started. Intense night that lasted until about 4 am. Taboo and Twister is my shiet. :)

Sunday, January 15
The realization that it was our last night here in South Lake Tahoe dawned on me, better go out with a bang... I made teammate and I an omelette. It is now my specialty. Quickly, it became another day of football but we also planned to go snowboarding. After thinking it over, there was a total count of 8 people but the only ones that would go would be teammate and I. The snow in Tahoe at that moment was artificial. Lame. And $80 to snowboard. Let's plug in the equation shall we? 2 people + artificial snow + $80 = NO SNOWBOARDING and NOT WORTH IT. Sightseeing would suffice but too bad we didn't go. Instead of wasting $80 on artificial snow, we decided to get wasted at 11 am instead of the usual 12 am. After a drunken game of Taboo, everyone else went to the casino, while teammate and I were left home to rot. Just kidding, no we didn't rot. I knocked out on the couch and after I noticed I was drooling I hauled my ass to our room and fell asleep. A couple hours later teammate woke me up before everyone came home. Joe the cook made spaghetti for us that night, yum. Since it was the last night, I kind of wanted to make a toast, haha, but I didn't. owell. Stayed up for a few more hours before teammate and I showered and hit the hay. About 1:30 am, there was a large ruckus outside out our door. "CREEP CREEP!" the loud voice yelled. Oh gosh... I quickly woke up next to teammate with insomnia. After an hour or so, they calmed down and teammate went outside to use the restroom. Outside our door was stacked red drinking cups that made a wall. LOL, finally done with the pranks, I fell back asleep.

Monday, January 16
YAWN, last couple of hours here. Time to pack. I made some breakfast for teammate and I and started packing all our things. I brought way too much stuff on this trip that wasn't used or necessary. The clocked ticked away, coming closer to our check out time. Packed the garbage and the rest of our things into the car. That was it. Goodbye Tahoe, you hold many memories. We left and within an hour we found ourselves at Boiling Crab in Sacramento. People were already waiting in line for the shop to open! Oh goodness. Mimi and Anita invited me to the nail store with warehouse prices. OPI, Essie and China Glaze for $3! WHAT. Man, they had really cheap stuff. Anita told me about the Seche Vite top coat nail polish and how wonderful it was. I bought a bottle for around 4 bucks? Give or take a couple of cents. I still haven't tried it yet, but when I do I'll tell you how it is. Boiling Crab service in Sacramento was kind of eh... Not as friendly or upbeat as the people at the one in San Jose. Lots of crawfish, king crab legs, hot wings, fries and shrimp were ordered. YUMMMY. I love Boiling Crab. :') After Boiling Crab, it was back into the car we go.

What a nice mini vacation. :) I can't wait for the next one! I should have taken pictures of our cabin. :( I wish I took pictures of the food we had as well. Joe made such beautiful looking tacos, haha.

Oh yeah, you probably all read my tweet on how stupid I was. Teammate and I went to Target to buy some necessities for travel i.e. toothpaste, shampoo and the like. Why did I bother to buy travel toothpaste for $1 when I could have gotten it for free at the dental office I work at. STUPIDO.

"ARE YOU GAIZ READY FOR BOILING CRAB?!" This is how they respond... not amused.

Didn't get to see snow. :(

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2
