Spooktacular

"What're you gonna be for Halloween?" racks up the most points of frequently asked question in the month of October. I.. have no idea what I'm going to be and I frankly don't care that much. There's nothing to do anyways, haha. Maybe pass out candy? Whatevs. As you all know and are aware of, I'm lagging in the blog entry department, but hopefully that'll change soon. There was a lot of changes made within the past few months and a lot of adjustments that needed a taking use to. So forgive me and my hiatus. Man, I really ought to get all my pictures in order. -_-

Teammate brought me to this amazing and trendy Japanese place. We became WAYYY too full off the good eats there. We got there around 6pm maybe, and there was already a line out the door. Talk about popular and good! Teammate didn't make reservations so we put our name down and took a stroll at Safeway, haha. -_____-' They called us back within 30 minutes when she said the wait would take up to an hour. We had to rush back before our seat was given away to some asshole. This isn't your typical Japanese restaurant... it comes in small plates and no sushi. And so we ordered.... bacon wrapped enoki mushroom x2, bacon wrapped mochi x2, ramen x2, sake steamed clams, house chicken wings, tofu steak with assorted mushrooms, chicken thigh skewers and duck skewers. HOW DO 2 PEOPLE FINISH THAT?! Needless to say, it was dericiouz. the bacon wrapped enoki and mochi were my favorites. So fattening but so good.

I suggested we eat at Asian fusion cuisine. Teammate and I ordered the Cabo San Lucas for starters, I ordered the Havana and teammate ordered the Manila. I dug into my plate of Havana and tasted the Asian and the fusion. The steak was delicious as was the rice. The rice had a hint of ginger in it. Teammate's Manila was good as well, delicious stir fried noodles with lemon and chicken, complete with lap cherng too! HAHA.

Craving for Vietnamese food! We headed off to a place I went to with my family and found it to be an absolute gem. We didn't order a lot but it was definitely filling for the both of us. We got the spring rolls for starters and I ordered the flaming beef, and absolute show right in front of our eyes. Teammate ordered the lemongrass chicken. This isn't your typical Vietnamese cuisine either, we got to hand roll our own "spring rolls" with rice paper, mint, lettuce, and sauce. Frikin' delish!

Amylatte was kind enough to invite me to the Nordstrom Trend Show for 2011. I woke up damn early for this and didn't get as many samples as I thought I could. Fun regardless! There were lite refreshments (what they call "breakfast") available for us to try as well as coffee. It was 8am, good choice Nordstrom. There was someone to greet us at the door and hand out pink ribbons with Prada's new fragrance "Candy", smelled wonderful bythewayz. Then there was someone to greet us at each escalator as we went up to view the show. There were SOOO many many prizes and raffle gifts that neither of us won... stupid old ladies, what're you gonna do with those anyways?! The show was over and the whole 4th floor of Nordstrom rushed downstairs to get their make up done. There were so many choices to choose from.... I had time to think about it while in line for Philosophy's oxygen mask. That isht does wunderz mang.... Well anyways, I love the product but they have sulfates and parabens in it, so... sorry. After the wonderful oxygen mask, Amy and I looked around for an available make up counter that would do our makeup. I chose Smashbox... bad idea. Amy didn't feel like waiting around for Dior so she also got her makeup done by Smashbox. I went up first, so I finished first. I had to wait for my Amylatte to finish up and all the while I was standing there feeling self-conscious, ONLY the Smashbox girls came around to tell me my makeup was gorgeous and asked if I liked it. OH MI GAWD, cut the crap ladiez. I looked like straight up crap and I couldn't wait to wash the stuff off. My eyeshadow wasn't blended well, my lipgloss was NOT poppin', and it was awful throughout, I'm sorry I had to be so fake the whole time she grabbed the mirror and told me to take a look. The girl that did my makeup was so vain, she'd rather look at herself in the mirror than do my makeup. I took a look at Amy's makeup, srzly, we do better makeup than that. I don't think I'll be doing my makeup with them again, imagine the tons of germs, ugh. Amy ran to the bathroom to wash the awful stuff off and would rather have been barefaced than go out like that. Amy should have waited for the Dior counter. We headed off back to our hood and grabbed some lunch. I haven't had pizza in a while so we opted for pizza instead of the super busy brunch shop across the street. I rushed back home to change and re-do my makeup so I would look decent to go out in the street. Tonight was haunt fest night at Great America with Teammate! WDUP~~~ I thought we would have real admission before haunt fest started but I was mistaken, we were there about an hour or 2 early so we headed off to Quicklys and Target to kill some time. After we were done we had to get back to Great America to get skurrrred. We entered the park and the first maze/haunted house we went to was Slaughterhouse. The sign outside said that the characters won't touch you, so don't touch them or you'll be kicked out of the park. I must say the characters are damn scary and they get WAY too close for comfort. Especially the ones with fat bellies that rub against you. -____- SMH. It got to the point where they weren't even scary, just annoying. All through the park, they went around spooking people and hiding out in dark corners. Some of them had knee and ankle pads to slid on the concrete.... UH WTF. We went on like 3 rides that night. Drop zone, free fall, and the swings, HAHAHA. After that we went to go get our caricatures done. I love our caricature! I was a mermaid :') Must say it doesn't look like me tho, but teammate's caricature certainly looks like him. After our caricature, teammate wanted to win something so we had to play games. LAWLZ, those bottle games are so hard. -_- He finally won me a minion at the water squirting game.

Teammate was in the mood for Shabu Shabu, so we went to Shabu House in another city. I must say that that location is absolutely GORGEOUS. Very appropriate for sake bomb contests and go HAM. LOL. I got to see my gorgeous friend Jennifer. Long time no see, and were even given a couple delicious treats. Like fried gyoza, tofu and a melon drink. Teammate and I both ordered the combo meat plate. Yummy in my tummy. Teammate always needs an egg with his meat now, I don't get it, it doesn't taste like anything......... anyways, had a good time and got to see my friend Jennifer! Thank you for everything babe!

Had brunch with Teammate before he left to go see his mommy for the day. Back to Beach Chalet, ugh y'all are nasty, Idk why I came back! I had the Dungeoness crab benedict while teammate had the wild mushroom omelet?????? Okay, I won't be back again, you were just the last resort. Went to purple kow after and I went home to bloggity!

Sunday, October 30th, 2011
Had a relaxing day and ate dinner with Teammate. We had Italian food! The place was pretty good, good choice Mabel. I had the pesto spaghetti, and teammate got the chicken penne. Both were delicious and filling!

Oh man, how am I even going to start this entry? I'M JUST PUMPING OUT THESE ENTRIES MANG!!! :) How about this... one of the best nights of my life. Everything was amazing. I got to spend it with an amazing person at an amazing place. The word amazing does not even begin to describe how beautiful the night was.

Teammate and I had planned on going fine dining for a couple of weeks already. There was no real special occasion going on but we wanted to go just to go. The thing about these things much like vacations, you need to find a place, and a time. We finally decided on a date that we would go but as the days crept closer, I figured that I still hadn't made any reservations. It was Monday or Wednesday when I finally realized that I had to make a reservation. So we decided on Farallon, a gorgeous restaurant that served seafood. Luckily, I made reservations without the 2 months notice. We were reserved for 7:15pm on Saturday night.

For starters we had to get some brunch. So we headed off to our favorite brunch place. Again with my belgian waffle, what else is new? Haha, I don't really remember what teammate ordered... triple gobble? omelet? What else is new? HAHA.

Frantically, I started getting ready at about 4pm. GIRLS TAKE A LONG TIME OKAY?! Shower, makeup, hair, clothes. TA-DOW, I love nights where I can get all dolled up. We left around 6:45pm and made it on time.

The restaurant looked gorgeous, the ceiling was filled with beautiful jelly fish. We made it past the bar and right in front of the kitchen. Crappy seat, I'd say but whatevs. We sat down and we ordered. My first course was the Happy Boy Farm heirloom tomatoes with petite opal basil, toasted almonds, mozzarella, cavedoni balsamic, second course was the Seared Georges Bank Diver scallop with sweet corn puree, duxelles stuffed squash blossom, marinated cherry tomatoes, third course was the chicken entree with black mission figs. (Not sure why the name isn't on the online menu) Teammate had the Chilled 1/2 Pound Maine Lobster with haas avocado mousse, salsa cruda, lemon aïoli, second course was the Seared Georges Bank Diver scallop with sweet corn puree, duxelles stuffed squash blossom, marinated cherry tomatoes also, and the third course was a steak with artichokes (name is also not on online menu). We were way too full for dessert so no dessert for us. :(

The heirloom tomatoes were delicious and I really enjoy the taste of "caprese salads", the scallops were delicious, but the puree that it was floating around in was alright and the potatoes were extra starchy. The chicken was good, and moist, pairing it with the black mission figs were great and added a sweetness. Teammate's lobster was delicious for sure, and the avocado dip was good, his steak with artichokes was enjoyable.

Before our dinner/real meals and while they served us complementary bread, we were given a little cup of soup. I think it may have been a mushroom soup? But I do remember it had truffle oil in it. The soup was were creamy and starchy but tasted goooood.

Our server was extremely nice and we were given these beautiful knives to cut our entrees with.

Must camwhore before leaving.

Farallon for the night

Can I get an award?

I'm back with another blog entry. How is this possible?! I think I've taken a long enough break from my blog. I hope you gaiz have read my last entry because it continues here! Teehee. Don't hesitate to feel hungry, or have the urge to eat large amounts of food after you read this.

I believe this was the night Teammate and I had Shabuway. Too bad I didn't take any pictures. :( This douchebaggy couple sat next to us at the bar, I was completely livid. I hate loud, douchebaggy people. ESPECIALLY GIRLS. She was talking super loud, and acted like a total douchebag talking about how shitfaced she got on her 21st birthday. You will never get laid... Anyways, Shabu was pretty good, I liked the fact that we got separate pots for our meats and veggies at the bar. Uh, server made a mistake with my soup base so I was panting from the spiciness of the soup for the rest of the night. I had a pretty enjoyable time there, but it definitely gets busy.

Saturday, September 3rd, 2011
Teammate and I went to eat at Millbrae Pancake House to see what all the hype was about. It was like a classier Denny's... The Swedish pancakes were really good but I'm not too sure about the cream that it came with. I ordered the blueberry pancakes that weren't much to rave about, and teammate's omelet was alright. I'll think twice about coming here. Service wasn't too great either.

Sunday, September 4th, 2011
Teammate and I were on a mission for food so we scouted out the city and went to a place called... PARK CHOW. Sounds so Asian right? WRONG, IT'S THE SAME AS CHOW ONLY IN A DIFFERENT NEIGHBORHOOD. LOL, smh. I ordered the steak which was DELICIOUS. Too bad I was out of A1 steak sauce, lol. Teammate ordered the linguini with clams. YUMMM. Park Chow played us.....

LABOR DAY! Whoot! No school and no work! Finally a day to relax. :) Since it was a holiday, teammate and I wanted to get dim sum from Koi Palace, unfortunately we couldn't get a seat. We got there at about 12pm and stood there for 12:40pm before we decided to leave. We headed somewhere else for not so good dim sum instead. :( For dinner we had Anchor Oyster Bar. FINALLY!!!! So glad we went to this restaurant, it was worth the wait. The name list was definitely long and the dining room is small. We waited at least 45 minutes to an hour for a bar seat, but that's okay. Funny thing when we were waiting for our names to be called. The host came out to check the names on the board, "Lisa" was up next. The host said, "Lisa? Okay, I called your name. /wipe" Those words were said within one breath under his breath. HAHA, I wish he did that to all the names. Teammate and I ordered the scallops, oysters and clams. The clams and the broth that it came in was delicious. Scallops and oysters were damn delicious as well. Definitely gotta come back.

Friday, September 9th, 2011
Teammate and I had Crawfish Station. Wish I didn't know about this place. Definitely not worth it! Once you've have The Boiling Crab, you can't go generic. We ordered oysters, chicken wings, clams (because they didn't have crab...wtf..?), shrimp and corn. Oysters were dirty and broken shell was all over the meat, chicken wings were re-battered and deep fried, nasty... clams all I got was clam shell... shrimp was alright but I liked Boiling Crab better.

Saturday, September 10th, 2011
Didn't know what to eat for dinner, so Teammate and I had Greek food! I love Greek food! We went to La Mediterranee. I got the pomegrante chicken and teammate had the chicken skewers. Teammate always gets the good stuff. -_- I liked Layaly much more, the rice was so delicious! My pomegrante chicken was alright, I could barely taste the much commercialized anti-oxidant. I should have picked something else, I really don't enjoy eating chicken with the skin on it.

Sunday, Septemeber 11th, 2011
Jonathan made an event for us to go paint pottery! So cool. I painted a vase, which turned out horribly and I painted a piggy bank for Teammate. So cute! But unfortunately it turned out ugly as well. I should go try to paint another one, there are so many pretty pottery to paint! Had dinner with my family for a little bit then got to hang out with Teammate and eat chips and salsa. I love to relax with him. :) Daddy even bought a special moon cake for us to try this year! It's ice cream moon cake! So coooooool. :)

Monday, September 12th, 2011
Happy birthday to my annoying little brat cousin and 中秋节快乐! :) Hope you guys ate lots and lots of moon cake! Dad bought some really delicious moon cake this year. Totally different from the average moon cakes I've had for 20 years. These were almost like Japanese mochi. Delicious ice cream filled beautifully patterned rice wrap. It was good I tell you! Definitely going to buy it again next year.

Friday, Septmeber 16th, 2011
Got Teammate to try some Little Fat Sheep! :) Guess who I ran into there! Amylatte! Hehe, I was wondering why this girl looked so damn familiar... I got to take the watercress veggies home too! I took the watercress veggies home so mommy could make me some watercress veggie soup. She said asked me where the watercress came from and I said hot pot. She laughed at me and said that that small heap of watercress wasn't enough for soup. Who said I said it was for everyone, I just wanted soup for myself, lol.

Saturday, September 17th, 2011
Finally got to try Outerlands! What was amazing was that this place didn't even open for 20 minutes and Teammate and I were already on the second page of the wait list... We waited about 45 minutes before we got a seat and I got the ginger lemon apple cider, it was really gingery @__@ but good for my tummy. :) I got the tomato and basil open face sammitch and I think Teammate got the one with the egg, maybe it was turkey? I thought my tomato and basil was really good, the cheese was all melted and delicious. Hope I can come back and the wait isn't too long. Go for a crisp cold morning! Restaurant is really hipster. For dinner we ate at Spork. I ordered the chicken entree and teammate ordered the inside out burger, I believe. The smashed fries were really good and FINALLY! a delicious chicken entree with me. :)

Friday, September 23rd, 2011
Jonathan's birthday! Happy birthday Jonathan! Jonathan's birthday was planned roughly about a month or two prior to his actual birthday date. We planned the restaurant, and decoys to lure him into the restaurant where we would all celebrate his birthday. Unfortunately our plans were slightly foiled, but it turned out to be successful regardless of the adversities. Justin, Amy and I went to go save him at which ever restaurant he was at and we quickly rushed to the restaurant where the festivities would commence. Jon asked me what we were having for dinner and I had to slyly tell him I left my camera at the restaurant and we had to go back to get it. I asked him as we got close to the restaurant if he would come in with me to get my camera. He complied, so we went in together and SURPRISE. TEEHEE, I think he was surprised. The restaurant was loud with a live band in the back of us that we requested to have happy birthday sung. The food was good too. Plates filled with fresh fruits and delicious spam musubi. Damn, that spam musubi was good.

Saturday, September 24th, 2011
Went shopping with teammate and had a pretty successful day of shopping. I got lots of clothes to restock my closet after throwing a bunch of clothes out. I need more color in my closet. -_- After a long and tiring day of shopping, we headed off to our beloved seafood restaurant..... BOILING CRAB! Wdup. Oh Boiling Crab, this time was the longest wait of our lives for a table. We waited at least two hours for a table and I was dying of hunger from shopping. But the wait is always worth it here. I know this is my fourth or fifth time at Boiling Crab, but they never cease to disappoint. Teammate and I got King Crab legs this time. I needed a change from the oh so original dungeoness crab. (How come I can never spell dungeoness correct??)

Friday, September 30th, 2011
After my trip to Live Sushi Bar with my best friend, I HAD to introduce teammate to this place. He likes sushi, and delicious sushi is what this place has. I ordered the 49er roll again, definitely my favorite sushi roll. If I had to pick two sushi rolls to eat for the rest of my life, I'd pick the 49er roll from Live Sushi Bar, and the Kalbi roll from Joy's Sushi. Again, the quality and the taste of the sushi was not compromised and tasted as good as I had it the first time. Uh, service here sucks to put it kindly (LOL) which is probably why they have an average of 3 stars on yelp.com. The girls aren't very friendly, don't smile, don't talk much and act like you (the customer) is retarded beyond recognition. OH WELL, your sushi is good, so I'll come back until you guys are assholes to me. Again, I didn't take pictures. WTH IS WRONG WITH ME MAN! I have like 3 cameras and I can't bring one?!

Oysters from oyster bar. Freaking delicious, no joke.
