Happy happy!

June 1, 2012
On the ride home from Pismo Beach, Alan mentioned a sushi place that he thought was good. I went a couple years ago with my BFF but I didn't think it was that special. Time to revisit with Babez. This time around, I actually thought it was good. We got multiple "rolls" in 2 piece portions. After eating there I had a revelation... sushi rolls should be no more than 1 piece each person and unique. Sure large, massive rolls are good for your wallet and tummy but small portions let you try multiple flavors and textures. I'm not a big sushi fan, really but I know what I like now. :) After dinner we tried a new Japanese dessert place. I ordered the fruit box which was good but way too sweet and Babe's mochi tasted like cardboard.

Dine About Town! Select restaurants with a prix fixe menu for only $34.95!!! This is a deal! Especially restaurants that are "$$$". Babe took me to Bisou for dinner, which was a quaint and trendy French bistro. I had the foie gras appetizer, foie gras steak entree and salted caramel dessert. The foie gras appetizer was disgusting because 1) it was served cold, 2) it felt like I scooped a spoonful of butter in my mouth. If you've had real, warm foie gras, it's already a slimey and oily texture. Enough to turn people away from it, but oddly enough not me. Foie gras just shouldn't be served cold I guess. My foie gras steak made up for it after, however. The foie gras and steak was succulent and delicious, no complaints here. The salted caramel dessert wasn't bad either, it didn't taste like a generic salted caramel, this one had real salt rocks in them! There was also a yummy little crunch to it maybe from some kind of nut? Pretty good overall, just not the foie gras appetizer.

I've been implementing badminton almost weekly now! I'm happy! I miss my old love of the sport. After I changed, I realized I didn't bring my shoes... -_-' Therefore, we had to go to Tanforan to buy me some new shoes. They're pretty cool! I think they're the lunareclipse shoes. I still kick everyone's butt with no shoes. :D After their badminton beating, we all went to go eat lunch at Ali Baba's to eat Mediterranean food. I got the lamb, which was pretty good and I tried a bit of falafel.

Babe and I grabbed some dinner from Pasta Pomodoro, lol. This place has really good bread, but everything else is kind of meh... This time around I ordered the marsala and babe had the lasagna and a side of broccoli. The marsala had a heavy wine taste to it and the lasagna didn't have as much flavor as I thought it would.

Babe and I are going to be out of town this coming weekend and I wanted to take him to eat prime rib. Unfortunately, HOPR couldn't accommodate us, and I had to choose elsewhere. We went to San Mateo Prime once again. Made it there about half an hour late but they were still so empty! Their prime rib is warm, juicy and delicious, Idk why people weren't lining up out the door for it. We also got a piece of tiramisu for dessert, for free!

Its winding down closer and closer to Babe's birthday! AGH, I'm so excited! :) It was a gorgeous day, finally, so we had a picnic in the park. In the evening, it was Babe's birthday dinner at yummy Anh Hong. This place has mouth-salivating food, srs. After dinner, they brought out the beautiful strawberry charlotte cake that I had ordered for him. I swear it looked way bigger in the picture online than in person. Still very pretty and yummy nonetheless.

ATV cherry

I bid you farewell. A couple weeks ago for the Memorial Day weekend, my friends and I hauled ass and headed to Pismo Beach. We left Sunday night and got there early Monday morning, the 4 hour drive there wasn't that bad actually. We got there pretty quickly and checked into our hotel room. After checking in we went to McDonald's for a late night snack and brought it to the hotel to eat. After that we went to sleep. We woke up and all went downstairs to get some breakfast. They have pretty good free breakfast lol. Frosted flakes, fruit loops, danishes, oatmeal, fruits and you can make your own waffles. After grabbing breakfast, Alan mentioned a place that served really good clam chowder. To Splash Cafe we go then. It wasn't all that far away and it was pretty hot when we got to the restaurant. We went up to order our food, I got the crab clam chowder, and babe got the salmon tacos. We got an absentminded cashier so when the food came out, I had no crab in my clam chowder and babe got a salmon sandwich instead of a salmon taco. SHEESUS, then it was another $1 for the crab meat. The clam chowder was only good because it had the crab meat in it, otherwise it wasn't all that great.

After our lunch, we went to the ATV rental place to what else?? Rent ATVs obvi! It was really windy and cold when we got to the rental place and fine grains of sand was blowing all over the place. We had to look for parking so we could go in and pay for the rentals and there was a small parking lot but it was full. Stupidly, we tried to go into the parking lot anyways, while there was a large mound of sand in our way. Ultimately, we got stuck and everyone had to push the car out lol. Parked around the long strip of ATV rental places instead. It was so windy and there was so much sand, my corneas are scarred I bet.

Finally we paid for our ATVs and had to pay $5 to drive on the beach to the trailer that had our ATVs waiting for us. Felt kinda cool driving on the beach... but $5 wth? We got to the trailer and parked our car and got suited up for ATV riding! WHEE! We had to listen to one of the guys explain in depth about the dunes and etc. He made it sound like a death trap or that we would get lost, I was pretty terrified. After the excruciating in depth explanation, we were taught how to ride our bikes and rode around the little practice area. After everyone was on track, we headed towards the larger dunes. I kid you not, there was an area called, "Sand Highway". After passing the limit line of "Sand Highway" I felt like I was in Dubai, surrounded by so much sand I could suffocate. I was still a bit terrified but then I started to get ballsy and wanted to ride up and down the blunt cut offs. We rode around for a bit and then everyone started to surround Anita. Didn't see anything happen but she fell off her bike and landed on the back/neck! OMAIGUT! She tried to go up a pretty big dune but fell off. I also fell off but thankfully no one really saw. ^__^ Babe claims he did but I don't think so. I wasn't even going up a really big dune like Anita was and I fell off. I was still clenched onto the bike when I was in the air but I let go luckily. -_- How embarrassing.

Soon enough our 2 hours of ATV riding was up so we left to go back home. Ahh, ATV riding was fun! So glad that I did it. :)

Week 1 and 2

On May 19, I endured a long and tedious 2 hour process to get my invisalign. First, I was to try on my template trays, then bond my attachments, then wear my trays for 20-22 hours a day then change them every 2 weeks for 8-12 months. I have 10 trays!!!

I tried on the trays and they fit then it was time to bond the attachments. The attachments are there to guide the teeth into the correct position and in total, I needed 11. 5 attachments on top and 6 on the bottom. I actually needed 2 attachments on one tooth! The bonding of the attachments took the longest but after that it was easy peasy. I tried on my first tray and they were pretty tight and had an annoying tingly feeling.

Invisalign is kind of a hassle but I guess it kicked my habit of always wanting to snack. On invisalign, you have to brush and floss after every meal or snack, which is a big hassle, so I'd rather not snack anymore. :)

The indicators are pretty cool. When you get the trays, they're a dark, royal blue. As you wear them more often, they start to fade to indicate that you've been wearing them for the correct amount of time.
